Vietnamese Fashion Moves Towards Professional Development


Viet Nam Fashion Fair 2006 (VFF’06) will be organized in Ho Chi Minh City, in July. Textile - garment enterprises are currently designing new collections for Spring/Summer 2007 to attend this fair season.

Five leading textile - garment enterprises in Viet Nam, Viet Tien Garment Company (VTEC), Nha Be Garment Company, Phuong Dong Garment Joint-Stock Company with F.House brand, the Sai Gon Garment Company 2 with Sanding brand and Legamex Export Garment & Leather Company will present new collections for Spring/Summer 2007 to domestic and foreign partners.
Designer Minh Hanh, Director of the Vietnam Fashion Design Institute (FADIN) in Ho Chi Minh City, was assigned general director of the fashion show.
Textile - garment enterprises and designers are working hard to prepare for Gala Dinner, a fashion show in VFF '06. Phuong Dong Garment Joint-Stock Company and designer Anh Vu continue to launch F-House and F-jeans brands, which received many successes in the domestic market with new designs.
Sanding Fashion and designer Minh Chau specialize in luxurious and sophisticated clothes for middle-aged women. Viet Tien and designers Giang Kim Bong and Thu Hien look for special designs for T-up, a high-quality brand of the company.
Nha Be Garment Company with the help of Fadin’s designers will complete their newest collections. Korean designer Kim, who set up the Maison Se’garo well-known brand in Ho Chi Minh City, will also take part in this fashion show.

“In addition to the exhibitions of fashion and garment additives, Gala Dinner is an outstanding activity to prove the strong development of designs and brand names of Vietnamese textile - garment enterprises in VFF’06”, Mr. Ha Ngoc Them, representative of the fair organizing board, said.
More than 200 stalls of domestic and foreign enterprises will be set up in the fair, especially those of the world’s leading garment and textile groups such as Nike, some Japanese groups, Thai Garment Manufacturers Association.
In addition, in the scope of the cooperation between Viet Nam and Thailand, Viet Nam Textile and Apparel Association – Vitas will take part in Fashion Week in Thai in September 2006.
VFF’06 is a part of national trade promotive program of The Vietnamese Garment and Textile Industry.
The organizing board hopes that the annual VFF will be directed towards the professional development and improve the Vietnamese Garment and Textile Industry’s competitiveness in international market.VFF’06 will be organized at Ho Chi Minh City International Exhibition & Convention Center (HIECC), 446 Hoang Van Thu Street, Ward 4, Tan Binh District, on July 19 - 24, 2006.
