VietNamNet Bridge – Two Vietnamese fashion designers, Lam Thi Kim Mai and Truong Thanh Hai, surprised Asian fashion fans at the Malaysian International Fashion Week in Kuala Lumpur from November 15-18.

This event was organised by the Malaysian Ministry of Tourism and the Malaysian International Fashion Association and is the largest and most successful annual fashion event in Malaysia.

Vietnamese designer Truong Thanh Hai brought to this fashion week his collection named “Four Play”, which was designed based on feelings about Pop-art, Jazz music, and young urban life.

“I like this collection. It is colourful and interesting,” said Malaysian model Azura Awang.

The collection of Lam Thi Kim Mai, with hand-made details and accessories like hats, bags, scarves, bracelets, necklaces, attracted special attention from the audience.

At this show, Kim Mai wanted to introduce Vietnam to international friends through stories about the past told through her collection.

After the show, Vietnamese designers were hunted by potential customers and Malaysian media.

A member of the organising board of the Malaysian International Fashion Week said that they would invite Vietnamese designers to next year’s event.
